According to Carol Vogel’s “Inside Art” Column (July 9, 2009) in the New York Times, animal sculptures and, of course, a big apple, all more than eight feet tall, by François-Xavier and Claude Lalanne will grace the Park Avenue meridians, along 52nd Street to 57th Street, from September 13- November 20, 2009. This public exhibition will be sponsered by Paul Kasmin, Lalanne’s art dealer and will follow in the footsteps of other sculptural exhibitions along Park Avenue, my favorite of which has been works by Fernando Botero and Tom Otterness. I guess the Lalanne moment is now a Lalanne hour! For more on the Lalannes’ see my blog, “A Lalanne Moment at Christie’s” from June 2, 2009.
