In the beginning of this month I wrote here that Christie’s in London was set to auction off the personal wardrobe of Isabella Blow, fashion icon and one-time muse to Alexander McQueen. This news caused an outcry from the fashion world as many felt that this collection should not be sold off piece by piece but kept together. I have just read in T Magazine’s Fashion Report that Daphne Guinness, another supporter of McQueen’s work and a slave to fashion in her own right, has purchased the entire collection. What Ms. Guinness plans to do with the collection remains to be seen but hopefully it will go on view to the public at some point. McQueen’s creations for Blow were legendary as was fearless in what she wore and he was legendary for shocking his audience.
