Portable Treasuries: Silver Jewelry from the Nadler Collection
February 16 – August 8, 2010, Museum of Arts and Design Collectors Daniel and Serga Nadler have assembled a unique collection of silver jewelry from around the world, including massive neck ornaments, anklets, bracelets, complex earrings, and a wide variety of brooches and fibulae. Portable Treasuries: Silver Jewelry from the Nadler Collection showcases selections from the Nadler Collection. The exhibition will present approximately 150 works, from North Africa, the Indian Subcontinent, and the hill tribes of Southeast Asia.

Costume Design in Film: Reflecting the Period. Introduced by Harold Koda, Curator in Charge, The Costume Institute. Metropolitan Museum of Art. The six films in this series—each set in a different time period—demonstrate the pivotal role of costume design in overall cinematic production. The series, presented in conjunction with the exhibition “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity,” and showcases the work of some of Hollywood’s finest wardrobe masters and mistresses, who dressed characters for settings ranging from Victorian London to a cruise ship in the 1940s.
