I am back from Florida where I participated in the Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show with my spirits revived. Unfortunately while I was away I missed all of Fashion Week and will now have to catch up via style.com! But there is an exciting event that is coming up, and open to the public, not just editors of fashion magazines.
Rodarte and Sally Singer in Conversation
On Saturday, Feb. 20th, Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum will host a discussion with Laura Mulleavy, one of the designers behind Rodarte, and Vogue’s fashion news and features director, Sally Singer. Recently Rodarte was awarded the 2009 Womenswear Designer of the Year by the Council of Fashion Designers of America and was named a 2009 fashion design finalist for Cooper-Hewitt’s National Design Awards. Rodarte is the subject of a Quicktake installation at the museum, which offers a glimpse into the Mulleavy sisters’ unique process and inspiration at an important point in their career.
